Well ... we are doing 1.3 ATA soft shell. My son is only 21 months old and will not wear the mask, which means he is only getting about 9% more oxygen. I think you have to be at a higher ATA to kill yeast ... probably 1.5 and above with 100% oxygen.

I have read a lot on the subject too and have heard both sides ... but personally I think every child is an individual and will re-act to the treatments differently.

I am so confused. Some things I read say HBOT increases yeast; other things say it kills yeast. (Dr. McCandless' book says it kills yeast.)

Thanks.It sounds like it is yeast for my son as well. We will ramp up the anti-yeast supplements.I guess for your son the bacteria die off also led to a flare up of viral issues? Did the vitamin A help?

My son also just started HBOT recently. About a week and half into his HBOT treatments his stimming increased and he even started new stims he never had before. His new stim was visual, he was looking out of the corner of his eye, he had never done that before.

His issue ended up being being yeast, the HBOT caused a yeast flare up. The yeast can get out of control pretty easily in HBOT, I think. He was never a super yeasty kid. The oxygen kills off bacteria and allows for the yeast to take over. We also added in more vitamin A.

Hi All,My son has started putting his hands over his ears recently and quite often. I don't remember him ever doing this in the past. We started HBOT recently and have been doing enhansa. We have not started much else recently that coincides with this.When he does this it does not seem to have anything to do with noise sensitivity because he does it at random times throughout the day regardless of the sound environment.He puts his hands on his ears and sometimes claps his hands on his ears gently. Does anyone know what might be causing this behavior? It came on so suddenly we don't know what to make of it.Thanks,
