You can look into Betaine HCL, SGI is an enzyme by Theramedix that helps, there is an acupuncture point that lies halfway inbetween the belly button and the xyphoid process at the bottom of the breast bone and also if you lay your child's index and middle finger across his opposite wrist at the bottom of where those two fingers lay is another point that is extremely benificial for reflux.  Massage these two points regularly and definately when he is experiencing symptoms.  If I get time later I will post pictures.

And of course I highly recommend acupuncture and chinese herbs, great way to stay off meds!

My 10 year old son (with asperger's) was dx with acid reflux when he was 5, and we've been through all of the medications you mentioned.  Non of them seemed to bring much relief until they put him on nexium a few months ago.  I don't know if 3 is too young for this medication, but it's worth looking into.  You can also try licorice root in the chewable form, that is supposed to help; although we didn't see much relief.  We also do enzymes and probiotics too.  Good luck!
