Sorry, on my original post I meant to say an Insurer in Eastern Iowa has

" stuck it " to providers.

Hi All

I definitely agree with Jim and Ken! The larger the numbers involved in

approaching the insurer, the better the result. We are dealing with the same

thing in NC. In a meeting we (NCPTA) had with the insurer, we were told that if

the product was still selling and no one was complaining about it, then why

should they change it? So, that means educating the businesses that are buying

the product as well as the providers banding together. I bet some of the

providers are also customers of the insurer.

We have been encouraging our patients to start complaining, as well as

collecting other data. We have also hit a brick wall in conversations with the

insurer. If a change is going to occur, it is going to take a long time, hard

work, and we have to be persistant.

It's a battle more and more of us will be involved in. We have to start

working together!!

Good luck and Support your Association!
