My immunologist gives my son motrin and benadryl before we start our IVIG. I am very opposed to it but my immunologist is very adamant. The nurse who administers the IVIG is overly concerened. She says that we will stop the IVIG if there is any slight discomfort like fever, headache or vomiting. She even calls me on the weekend to ask me if he had any fever the next day.I feel if the immune system did not react to it at all how will it get better. Is anyone else doign the benadryl and motrin before IVIG?
