You can do standard blood work thru any lab and check his HHV6 anti bodies for herpes. Many times though a trial of valtrex works even though the kids do not have high titers. If your son is aggressive you may also want to check his testosteeerone levels. A lot of the ASD kids have high testosterone which makes them agggressive. You can use spironolactone to lower testosterone levels.

hi.. my son is 17 and slow in language processing.. most other autistic symptoms have dropped away... he has high axiety and is on geodon for aggression due to what I believe is trouble with verbal expression.. he is hyperlexic with mild apraxia.. since I am on valtrex for life due to herpes simplex 1.. and danger for dendrites to return to my cornea.. (after an outbreak on my nose which led to cornea)... I had my first outbreak in my teens. I want to have his blood tested... will my DAN doctor.. dr. prociuk know what test???? also.. my son's psychiatrist recommended taking folic acid as well as the geodon and lexapro he is on. I also want to try the MB12 .. as my son has always been low in the b vitamins. he has no leaky gut issues.. he did when he was 3... big time!! .. he eats all greens and tries anything new.. he won't eat tomatoes and onions. any recommendations? thanks.. LIa
