Guest guest
I have a question about the efficacy and reimbursability (?) of Anodyne Therapy. It's being presented as a treatment for primarily DPN and wounds. The only literature I can find about it appears to be produced or funded by the company that produces the product. I was wondering if anyone has any info or can point me in the right direction to effectively evaluate this product for use in our LTC setting. Many Thanks in advance, Betsi Slider Young Regional Director of Operations Rocky Mountain Region Mariner Health Care The information contained in this e-mail, including any attachments or other embedded messages, is legally privileged and confidential and is intended only for the use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed. Guest guest
The data collection has been completed. Currently UT Memphis has the data and should be completing in the next couple of weeks. Two other studies were recently released one in Diabetes Care Jan 2004. Website WWW.diabetes.org/diabetescare. This was a double-blind randomized, placebo-controlled study as well. There should also be a study published this month in the Journal of Geriatric PT by Kochman. I believe this study focused on improved balance. As far as the results, I will give my opinion to anyone who wishes--just e-mail me privately. Otherwise, if there is no objection, I will post the study results on this site when I receive them. Another interesting point for those interested. If you attended the CMS meeting you could not get past the new " laser " devices that several manufactures were showcasing. One of the new machines on the market is MEDX PhotoTherapy 870nm infrared. Anodyne is 890nm. Most of the PhotoTherapy machines were not being advertised for neuropathy but of increased circulation, faster healing, reduce or eliminate pain and inflammation.
