Wound Vac in Therapy

Hello all,

I have a two fold question regarding therapy considerations with a wound

VAC.

1. In order to allow for easier gait training or rehab in general, do

any of you disconnect a wound VAC during therapy treatment by clamping

the VAC tubing near the VAC sponge?

2. If so, does your approach change if the patient has a positive MRSA

culture from the wound?

Any feedback is appreciated.

I would like to dovetail on Troy's question about Wound VAc. Are any therapists

currently applying the Wound Vac, billing for it under a therapy POC?

I understand there will be a new CPT code in 2005 for NPWT which PT's can use.

What about now? Are any of you repsonsible for this and billing under an

unlisted code?

Thanks in advance.
