Guest guest
I just called G at the hospital and got her right after she said she just woke up. She sounded a bit groggy, poor thing. Haven't we all been there done that? She had her surgery lap on Monday. She is still in hospital. She had a bad night two nights ago (counting tonight as one I guess?) where she threw up blood. They think it was lingering blood from the surgery. She is taking in fluids slowly from the way it sounds. Pain from actual surgery is not too bad. Nausea perhaps from morphine reaction. I think she said they took her off that. She says she keeps burping, I said let er rip. Don't hold it back. Pass gass any way you can!!!!! She laughed. I asked if she is up walking and it sounded like she was having the same issues as I was while in hospital with motion sickness. They give you shot in iv for it and it makes you so sleepy you can't get up and walk. I mentioned for her to ask her doctor about motion sickness patches you wear behind the ear. They helped me get up and walk that last day in hospital and what she is going through sounds just like my experience was. She said she would. I told her we were asking about her and wondering how she was doing. She was very grateful that people have been so sweet to her. She said she would post an update when she got home. If you want to give her a call it is (listen to the phone menu and push zero for operator assistant) ask for Gardner. -- Lap RNY April 7, 2004 Dr. Petrick, Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.
