Guest guest
Hope someone can give me some more insight into this thing. Female age 65 and healthy?? ie blood pressure good, low cholesterol, some arthritis, and osteoporosis which I take 70MG of Fosamax once a week for. A little over a two years ago I noticed my heart beat was irregular and had it checked out. d a heart monitor around for a day and the Doc figured it out right away. He prescribed Lanoxin, .25 MG daily. It seemed to be fine until about 2 months ago when, at about 1130PM, it felt like a drummer was in my chest. Hadn't had that before so after two hours went to the emergency room where they calmed things down. Not sure what they used but believe it was more Lanoxin. Spenttwo days there and had stress test, EKG, Ex-rays and nothing unusual was discovered. Doc said just keep on using Lanoxin and everything should settle down. Wmmm that sounded too easy. Asked what to do if this reoccurred and he said if it lasts for more than two hours go back to the Emergency Room. A week ago, about midnight, a light case of the drummer occurred and about 45 minutes later he took a break and things have been better ever since. I was quite tired when this one occurred so could that have been a trigger? After reading some of the messages here I believe it could have been. Sooo: 1. Does Lanoxin seem to be a good way to control AF? 2. Could being over tired be a trigger for AF? 3. Once AF starts is there any way to turn it off or help to stop the attack? Any info on the would be most appreciated. Phyllis
