Guest guest
Hi, , A number of people in here have had good results with tikosyn (dofetilide.) How often are you having afib episodes? Or are you in chronic afib? About the migraines, I had very frequent ones until a calcium deficiency was corrected. I was registering low normal on the regular calcium blood test, but my doc, tracking something else down, finally sent me to an endichronoligist(sp?) who took one look at the calcium results and said no healthy person ever has a reading that low. He put me on prescription strength vitamin d to help with the calcium absorption and in a few weeks my migraine frequency fell to almost zero. I have one now about every few months. That said, I will add that taking calcium supplements possibly is making the frequency of my heart stuff increase. I am experimenting to see if that is the case. Guest guest
If its any consolation, you seem to have a doctor that is willing and able to try different approaches, including the ones that are less common (flecainide and Tikosyn). Flecainide works for me, but hopefully Tikosyn will work for you! Good luck! Looking for advise - Drug change > So the search goes on for a better medical treatment. Guest guest
, been on sotalol for the last 11 months, and so far its been keeping me pretty much in sinus, only had a few this year, compared with other meds last year. walt Looking for advise - Drug change So the search goes on for a better medical treatment. In breaf the treatment history over the last year plus has been: Amiodarone for 4 weeks (sleeplessness & not good control), Ablation (failed), Toprol (bradycardia) & Flecainide 7 months (worked at first... then failed control also untollerable neurological symptons and severe chest pain after 5 months of the drug - still have positive ANA & chest pain 4 months later), and disopyrimide 4 months (very dizzy in AM's for a few hours also poor coordination, dried out everything so can't swallow toast, constipation, painful dry eyes, etc., migraine frequency increase, ringing in ears, and poor vision). Another ablation is being posponed until after medical choices have been exhausted and they are Solatol, Procainimide, and Tycosin. Has anyone been this route before? Any suggestions? What about starting the Tycosin in the hospital... how did you feel? I sure would love to hear your experiences on the list serve so I can make the next choices/transitions as smooth as posible. I'm begining to feel like quite the guinea pig. While in the hospital maybe I should request a special diet of raw cabbage, carrots and lettuce to make the process go smoother!
