Guest guest
Hi all you wonderful people on this board. I have two wonderful people in my life that are needing to be on high dose, long term ( 12-24m) antibiotics. One is my step mother who has battled cancer ( in remission) and has ?avium bacterium? in her lungs. It's a kin to TB. She has asked me how to preserve her good gut bacteria and immune system as best she can while doing this treatment. She has looked for other treatments and can't get much traction for silver or other alternatives, and all docs seem very " scared " of leaving this bacteria. She is concerned it will compromise her immune system and give the cancer a chance to come back. Any ideas for keeping her as healthy as possibly during this time? I suggested high dose probiotics as far away from the antibiotics, as possible, and maintaining a d3 level of 80 or above. Any other suggestions would be greatly appriciated. I know some of you have done LT antibiotics, so I thought you might have some ideas. Should they be on an antifungal maybe? How would you get he doc to prescribe that? Thanks in advance, and sorry for the OT post. Ellen
