Can anyone who has had their kiddo on Vancomycin for long periods of time please

share your experiences. It seems we can't resolve the horrible bowel movements

while on the Vanco however it is the only thing that seems to control the

Clostridia and brings huge improvements. Any idea how long it is safe to be on?

What's the longest time anyone has kept their kids on it and how long did it

take before the bowel movements return to somewhat normal. All I can say is the

combination of the Valtrex and Vanco is doing wonders for us with the only

exception of the bad bowel movements.

I never keep kids on Vanco longer than 10 days at one shot - I found it

sterilized the bowel of not only clostridia but also all the good bugs the gut

needs for proper functioning.  Long term valtrex is one thing; long-term

antibiotics is rarely advisable - better to investigate the inflammation or bad

foods or other toxins that are causing clostridia invasion and proliferation and

eliminate, not just treat, this problem.  Dr. JM
