Guest guest
Brainchilds is excellent. Highly absorbed, best tasting (for this sort of thing), and kids seem to tolerate it way better than other similar items. My kids are ultra picky on taste and theirs was the only thing they would drink. If you have any trouble deciding which to use, call them or write Terri (terri @ mykland.com). They have a new extra sensitive product too. http://www.brainchildnutritionals.com/Brainchild_Nux.html The Vanilla Sundae by Animal Parade that you mentioned is also good but it is more just a calcium supplement than an all-over multivitamin. . Or other supplements, or even foods. It is possible that your child does not want to eat because something is making him sick. Enzymes can help with this problem, but not always. If he is refusing his vitamin, then I would not give him any vitamins for a while, see if that helps. Consider trying enzymes also. Or you might need to remove one of the foods he is currently eating. Good luck. Dana
Guest guest
My almost 4 year old has made huge gains in eating this last month. We started AFP a month and a half ago. And we've been doing a special preschool vision therapy program for 2 1/2 months-her eyes are beginning to focus on the food now and she understands what it will be like in her mouth. She began restricting her food intake at 1 1/2 down to almost nothing by. Last fall I went to a workshop on eating and autism and learned a lot of great information. I do believe my daughter restricted a few foods because she knew they were affecting her. In the last month she will ask me what I'm eating, then ask for some, and proceed to eat it!! This is huge! I'd be happy to share more about any of this, just let me know. Sorry, I'm no help on the multi vitamin. The closest we come to a multi vitamin is Pediasure. Best Wishes! Guest guest
Hi, My son takes a mult from Kirkman. It's called Every Day dietary supplement. He takes 1 in the am and 1 in the pm. Guest guest
I just started using the Super Nu Thera liquid with my son. I had purchased the samples in March but as he was having surgery in April, I held off on starting it. I had purchased the Spectrum Awakening but getting my son to take it was near impossible. On a good day I could get half the days dose in him. The Super Nu Thera is much easier! -------------- Original message -------------- From: " emonline2000 " <emonline2000@...> I am looking for a good multivitamin to use along with fish oil and vitamin E. Guest guest
When we started this journey, way back when, I tried the Brainchild Nutritionals vitamins. Disaster! My son would not drink them (they smell bad and probably taste bad, too. And you were supposed to give a divided dose three times per day! He conveniently spilled the drink with the vitamins most of the time, and even starving him into submission only worked a few times. I hear it's the B vitamins that smell and taste bad. My sister's DAN gave her a formula without B vitamins, and then a cream to get the B's transdermally (which apparently discolors the skin a bit, so anyone trying that should put it somewhere discreet/covered, like the bottom). We use a good-quality gummy vitamin by Rainbow Light and try to eat well, which is pretty difficult (broccoli is his only vegetable, and we are GFCF right now.) Can't do everything right, at least that's how it is for us right now. in NJ > > I am looking for a good multivitamin to use along with fish oil and vitamin E. Guest guest
Does anyone have suggestions for a multivitamin for a 12 year old? It can't have dyes, sugars, milk, not over 100% recommended daily value, etc. I'm sure most of you understand and get the idea. I've sent a few possibilities to Dr. G's office but they have all been unacceptable. I'm desperate to find one for my son. Thanks so much! Guest guest
Dyes tend to make my son more hyper. We've always been told to stay away from them. Guest guest
What about Centrum or One A Day? I don't know if they have a dye coating but if they do, you could wash it off. Guest guest
He's never told us we couldn't use Flintstones he just always makes sure we aren't giving red ones. I'm pretty sure Polyvisol wouldn't be appropriate for a 12 year old. Seems to me that it wouldn't be enough and to get enough, it would probably be very expensive considering it's $10 a bottle and I would guess you'd go through a bottle pretty quick to get enough. cheryl On Oct 18, 2007, at 8:38 PM, and Sal Juarez wrote: > Interesting, Dr. G told us to use only Polyvisol. > > >From: Cheryl Lowrance <c.lowrance@...> > >Date: 2007/10/18 Thu PM 09:15:09 CDT > > > >Subject: Re: Multivitamin > > > > >What about Centrum or One A Day? Guest guest
You may want to take a look at Kirkman's site. We use their multivitamin with some success. My son used to take gummy vites from Costco and they're good too. Guest guest
Hi Robyn, We used the multivitamin from Kirkman for almost 7 years. Dr. G wanted us to stop because the daily % value on some of the vitamins/ingredients were over the 100% daily value. He finally approved the Sugar Free One-A-Day multivitamins; just not the red ones. I found Scooby-Doo and Looney Tunes and my son seems to like them. We'll see. Have a blood draw this week so I hope the viral counts are down. We also just started introducing Wonder Bread after 7-8 years being on the GFCF diet. Brown rice, tapioca starch, etc. seemed to be (possibly) bad culprits to my son's system. Thanks to all for your advice and wisdom.
