Guest guest
Lesley, Thank you for your input on this topic. I have not paid too much attention to all the growth hormone posts as it hadn'tapplied to me, but now it may as she seems to be getting smaller and smaller when next to her peers. Emma's 18 mo. old cousins are just a head shorter than she is now. After i receive the results from the blood tests, which should be by early next week, i think it will be time to get a second opinion. Jen k Chantelle, thank you for your explanation on the bone age xray. It was helpful. Jen k Cheryl, I wrote my post regarding labels to but i am sure you figured out i meant you. I think i did that once before as well. :-) Jen k

Guest guest
Hi I don't know if I had a heart block before my PVA. No one ever mentioned it. I suspect not. Even a month before the PVA I did a 43 mile walk in one day, on a very hilly logging road. I went into AF at the beginning of the walk, it lasted for about an hour and at the end of the walk, 11:30 hours, i went into afib again for the night. Now when I walk, I get short of breath, my heart does all kinds of strange things and in general I feel lethargic. I am trying to shake this depressed kind of feeling, which I am sure adds to it all. Thanks for your supportive words. Leo > << I am so sick and tired of all of this. Guest guest
Leo - I had a pacemaker implanted last year on June 8. Before the pacemaker I could hardly walk across the yard and planting a few flowers took me all day. Right afterward, I felt so much better. Also, I visit another website for pacemakers, implantable.com, where there are alot of others who are very athletic. One young man even lifts weights competatively besides others who are runners, etc. Also, there are people with heart block who can answer questions for you. Maybe this will do the trick for you and you will feel better. Also, my AFib is basically under control. I do take amiodarone but was taking it before the pacemaker and it wasn't helping at all. It was like night and day after getting the pacemaker but I also have to say I have had no problems with my pacer. Will be thinking of you and hope your problems are resolved. Guest guest
p.s. I also have the effect on walking you describe when I am on higher doses of beta blocker. If I'm on no beta blocker, I can walk ad infinitum.
Guest guest
Leo -- I hope you are doing well! Sandy I'd like to add my words of condolence to our American neighbours. The day after this enormous tragedy I had my second PVA. Now I am back home. I am in nsr, but i have to sit and wait for a couple of weeks to see if it actually worked. Will keep you informed. It has only been 24 hours since it was done. Leo

Guest guest
The cardiologist explained to me that aspirin and coumadin serve different functions. The asa makes the platelets less sticky, and the coumadin thins the blood differently. Both appear to have a different effect on the clotting of the blood. After the PVA he said that both were necessary. Leo > I was recently advised by my dr. to increase the daily aspirin from 81mg to 325mg. ASA daily, but after my PVA, the EP said that newer research is now saying again that this dosage is too low, and I should go back to a regular aspirin a day, in addition to Coumadin. I was too dozy to question him on more details about this research. Does anyone have any knowledge or opinions about this? > > >

Guest guest
, That is so awesome!!! It will be no time before you can slide those new pants on and not much longer after that before you will be thinking " dang it they are too big! " . I love buying new clothes but I do admit hate saying goodbye to the ones I just barely grew in and out of! I know while you are in those sizes you continue to feel big but girl...LOOK HOW FAR YOU " VE COME! You are NOT ANYWHERE NEAR The same size and you look fantastic the change already!!! You still have some more fun to go ...each day a new journey on this trail to your new you! Enjoy Enjoy...it is all coming to you one day at a time! Hugs my surgery sis, Kat Shaffer wrote: Darcy I was at my grandmother's party for the whole afternoon till around 3:30 when I decided it was time to start the 3 hour drive home to where I live and teach. I had a lot of stuff in the back of my truck to unload once I got here. Some cousins kept looking at me over and over again. Ok, I have not been to family gatherings on that side for many years to see some of these people. The teenager's were in diapers the last time I saw them! Eventually the staring souls must have asked someone else WHO is that sitting over there????? A couple of them came up to me and said I finally figured out WHO you were! I wear my hair short now, and with the color and weight loss, it is a big change from their old image in their brains. My cousin's girl, Doneille (who now has two kids of her own and just saw me in a store in the past year) came over to me with wide eyes and said wow, you have lost a ton of weight. She repeated it twice. So it is nice that other's notice it. I keep taking my pants in yet with water retention issues I still feel as fat as before. Saturday I bought an XL sweatshirt at our fair elections & association's yearly meal, and thought oh it will be a while till this fits. I was just in 2XL and feeling comfy. I tried it on when we got home later it fit. I am still convinced it will shrink when washed. But I will be wearing it to school today. Friday night I broke down a bought a couple light weight ribbed shirts with lace around their neckline at Walmart on reduced clearence. 22/24 from a 30/32. I also liked some ribbed pastel colored pants. Largest they came was XL 16/18 size. Since they were on sale I bought them knowing eventually they would fit. When home I tried them on. The tops are perfect now, the pants... I actually squeaked my butt into them. They fit snug and show every evil bulge I want covered- but they fit all the way up to the hips. I won't be wearing them in public just yet till they do not fit as snug. -- Lap RNY April 7, 2004 Dr. Petrick, Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa. Guest guest
Kat Explaining the new clothes: I have been stuck in a locked scale numbers rut for the longest time. LOL, I thought maybe if I bought some NEW clothes... it might move? LOL, isn't that the case? Buy some pretty new colors and you will soon become too small to wear them faster than you can get them in and out of the washer dryer shuffle? SO, we will see. The stuff I have been taking in is needing a more serious altering- in the area of where the side pockets are. I could sew the pockets shut and have them altered just right but an art teacher needs her pockets. Altering around the pockets is just plain rude to do. I have some classes that I should be taking coming up in the next couple months so my time line will be altering to get some credits for Act 48 certification which runs out this June. Heard today from some other teachers a Curves will be opening locally. WOuld be nice to have the time- but I have my own gym in my spare bedroom. Just rarely have the time to use it with the stuff I have been doing for school and chores around the house that have gone undone for years. Katharine wrote: > , > That is so awesome!!!
