Guest guest
My 84 yr old LBD father hallucinates on Sinamet. He has been off and on it for the past three years when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. As of October 2003 we now know he has LBD with parkinsonism. The last time they tried the lowest dose of Sinimet he left the AL, went next door and told them to call 911 because everyone in the house was dead. Speaking of hallucinations, my father sees many things, people in the house, a man with a head, legs, and no body, rats (every time I hear something late at night I tell myself he was hallucinating), usually very dark things. I always wondered why he didn't see nice, happy things, like a child playing or a puppy. He was recently kicked out of another AL, hospitalized in a behavioral health unit while they changed his meds, and now tomorrow he's supposed to go to another AL but with his recent combatitive episodes and refusals to take his meds I'm feeling very unsure that it is going to work out. When he went into the hospital 3 weeks ago he was ambulatory, yesterday he couldn't take one step. I am trying not to be negative but it seems like just when I think things are the worst, they get worse. This disease is such a horrible one.
