Hi, Newbie with Question

Hello!!

This is my first time posting with a Yahoo group, I hope I am doing

it correctly.

I am 43, live in NYC, married, with a wonderful furry cat daughter.

(I get my gorgeous looks from her!)

I do suffer health issues, for which I have now turned to alternative

treatments, having found conventional medicine doesn't do anything.

In addition to many changes I have made to try to improve my life, (I

am a VERY highly stressed person and need to learn to think

differently), I have picked up Louise Hay's " You Can Heal Your Life " .

I am hooked! I am almost through my second reading, and I have two

of her CD's as well as other meditation and/or subliminal CD's.

I have a question that I am VERY curious about concerning Louise's

philosophy/beliefs and her affirmations. I will post it here, if it

is the correct spot for it.

Regarding her message that the Universe always protects us, and " I am

safe " . I love these, but here is my question, if someone can explain

for me.

I understand we create everything that happens to us with our

thoughts, BUT, what about when things happen that are scary, such as

hurricanes, terrorist attacks, car crashes, my cat dying, etc, that

we personally didn't create? To me, there are many things to be

afraid of. If I created it with my thoughts, I do understand that I

can definately change that. But I guess I am not understanding how

this coincides with the other bad things that happen in the world.

If someone could explain what Louise means by this, I would greatly

appreciate it. I am repeating " I am safe " many times, but it doesn't

feel right because I feel that isn't a completely true statement, but

I am probably misunderstanding the concept.
