Eye Trouble

Hey everyone,

?

? ? I have no idea what's been going on on here lately (about the last month and

a half) because I've been having a lot of trouble with my eyes. To sum it up

they're dry, itchy, generally hurt, and aren't focusing very well when I try to

read....makes it really hard to study (I had 300 textbook pages to read this

week plus some lectures to watch). Anyways, I finally saw the eye dr this week

and as soon as she heard that I have FMS and CFS she said, " Oh. " Apparently they

can cause the tear ducts to not lubricate the eye properly (or something like

that) and for the muscles to get tired out and hurt just like any other muscle.

Basically my eyes are too dry and overcompensating for fatigue when I try to

focus. I haven't had problems like this since I was 6 and read too much in poor

lighting. So I get reading glasses (which I look awful in), I have to take fish

oil pills, and I'm supposed to use eye drops during the day and this eye gel at

night. I also bought a spotlight lamp to study by because it's so dark during

the day here. I've never heard of eye problems connected to fibro before.

? On the plus side...I'm going to Hawaii in a couple of weeks. My uncle has a

condo that's open so I'm meeting my parents there for 10 days. I'll have to haul

along my textbooks and computer, but there should be some sun and at the very

least it will be 40 degrees warmer than here. I really want to see an active

volcano. Whatever, if I'm sick on a beach it's still better than being sick

here. Sometimes the combination of bad neighbors, cruddy health, and cruddy

weather just makes me want to scream. Thank god for tropical vacations!
