Hi,

We are on Day 16 of Antiviral therapy (with Antifungal & Antibacterial

in place). My son is seriously clenching his toes together,

criscrossing his fingers or holding them in a budda position and

grinding his teeth hard.

Have you experienced this? If so what did you do to resolve the issue?

Thanks.

I would definitely take your son to the doctors or even the ER today and have

him looked at . This is not normal, he may be having a bad reaction to the

medicine or something else is going on. This could be seizure, brain/spinal cord

problem ect..

What you may be experiencing is die off from the antiviral. You should call

Dr. G and check in. The die of usually occurs after 10 days to two weeks.

It is like all the autistic symptoms are ten times worse. Die off is awful.

It is especially difficult because you feel like you are going backwards.

But after die off, you see a kid that is much clearer. The silly and

drunken behavior starts to go away. Now they can learn to stop pinching or

biting. (Or whatever your child does. Before it was impossible to teach)

I tried the pills myself just to see what it was like. You feel like PMS

times twenty. During that time we didn't do anything complicated. They

feel sick. Tylenol helps along with doing things they find relaxing. If it

is really bad call Dr. G. He may tell you to either increase or decrease

the dosage. You can also use some activated charcoal, but be careful when

you give it, because it will absorb all medications too. Hope that helps.

Hi-

I could be wrong but it sounds like he is needing deep

proprioceptive input. I'd suggest squishing (like

laying on top of him w/pillows or other good smooshing

games, wheelbarrow walking (holding his feet), hanging

from a bar, jumping on a tramp ...

I clench teeth, dig my fingernails into my fingertips,

curl my toes all when I feel my 'sensory' system

feeling real agitated. It's just an undefinable

discomfort. I know one of my triggers is yeast, as

well as a bacterial infection, but sometimes I don't

know why. A wrong probiotic can do that to me too, as

well as hormones. Heck, anytime I feel out of sorts!

lol

It's not that bad to experience, and hopefully will

pass soon.
