Guest guest
Haven't been on in a while and thought I would give an update. Just saw a new doctor this morning (Dr. Bessie Owens in Mesquite Tx) and so far so good. She is very much an advocate of the patient taking charge of their own health. She has hypoT herself and has been down the thyroid He@@ road and from experience knows that the synthetic stuff just don't work for most people. She was very pleased with the amount of knowledge that I already had and was very open to working WITH me to allow me to get to my optimal health. She had 4 vials of blood drawn and will be doing all sorts of tests (when I get results-I will post). Due to my insurance as far as the adrenals she will be doing a blood test and the dhea-s test. I am going to pay for out of pocket the 4xday sylvia test and send her a copy when they come in so she can compare. She prefers the sylvia test - but the cost is up to me. I am very impressed with her - will see how things go from here. She was very happy with all the current supplements that I am taking Glyburide/Metromin2.5/500 1 or 2 tab a day Armour Thyroid currently on 3.5 grains a day Multivitamin 1 tab a day Glucosamine/Chondroitin 1 or 2 tab a day Calcium 1200 mg a day Magnesium 250mg 1 tab a day Potassium 99mg 1 tab a day Vitamin C 1000mg 1 tab a day Super B Complex 1 tab a day Selenium 200mcg 1 tab a day Iodine 12.5 mg 3 tab a day and has told me to up the Vit C to 1500mg 2xday up the Iodine to 4 tab a day (she really likes to use iodine-feels that everyone in America should be taking it) and to add the following: Digestive enzymes with HCL - 1 w/each meal B2 - 250 mg a day for 6wks B3 - 250 mg a day for 6wks Celtic Sea salt - 1/2 tsp a day (i use to cook with but will start using in water or something) Milk Thistle - 500 mg a day So I am very happy with her, it looks like that I may have found a doctor to work with me and that I can stay with to get better. Will post blood work results later. Christi in Texas ----------------------------------------------------------------------
