Guest guest
Hi everyone, I've just logged on again to report on my progress with Valtrex. I'm so busy now that I haven't been keeping up with the posts! I started Valtrex in January and my doctor kept me on it for 9 months. I just finished. When I began I was at 30% on the disability scale, unable to work at all and confined to the house or a wheel chair. Nine months later I would place myself at 70% on the scale. I am now working half time. I work out every day – either a 35-minute bike ride or a 1 km swim. My recovery time from exertion continues to get quicker. It used to be hours to recover from a one-block walk. Now it takes about an hour to recover from a 4-hour workday. The disease is finally manageable. I can organize life around. My limits are still very real, but there is enough energy within those limits to live a fairly normal life!!! I am finding that the physical stamina is improving faster than the cognitive stamina. The brain fog, memory loss, and sensory overload are still big problems. My doctor has just suggested I try a nitroglycerine patch (Nitrodur) to help with the brain fog. Has anyone else found this helps? I just wanted you to know that Valtrex is the drug that worked for me. Nuwekerel
