Guest guest
Hello Everyone!! Gee, have I missed all of you -- way more than I can possibly say!!!!! This is PJ, owner/moderator coming to you from bed all propped up with both legs & feet elevated with a broken foot (right) with 3 bones broken in it, with a compound fracture, with an open wound (with stitches), etc. etc. First off, Happy Birthday to Kathleen and to all our other May birthdays!!!!!! Secondly, a big hearty welcome to all of our new members in affirmations to de-stress!!!!!! I'm so very sorry that I haven't been around to meet & greet each of you. My oldest daughter had her first baby born on May 5th Friday, in the evening, a baby boy -- who is doing much better now except for colic. Mom and baby are much better than they were a while back, and thank you to everyone for your abundant prayers on their behalf!!!! For awhile, the little guy was having some respiratory problems, a weak heartbeat, etc. Then, later on he got jaundice, and that had to be treated until it got better. My daughter also had a difficult labor/delivery which required many stitches, etc. I went up there on Sunday May 7th to help for a week or two with the baby & to help around the house, etc. Well, things went fairly well that week -- but noone got much sleep -- we were lucky if we got 3 hours in a 24 hour period. Then, on Friday night (one week after Henry was born -- May 12/13th) -- I had taken my tennis shoes off and was headed up the stairs for the last time before bedtime when I tripped right on the top step of the 1st landing of the stairs as I had both hands full (there were no handrails either), and what I was carrying went up into the air and came back down. I then went tumbling down the flight of stairs barefoot until I landed on the bottom floor of their apt. It was about 12:30 am on Saturday May 13th. I never totally passed out, but did go into shock as the fall was so high and I fell so far. Everyone had been asleep on the couches and woke up when they heard the horrendous noise my fall made! The first thing we noticed was that my little pinky toe on my right foot was broken and pulled apart from the 4th toe, with a deep gash/puncture wound between the 2 toes that was bleeding profusely. I couldn't move any toes on either feet and all the toes were numb, which scared me quite badly. I fell on my right elbow and onto my face & nose after rolling down each stair with my feet. I had a compound fracture on my right foot, and later found out there were 2 other toes broken as well on my right foot. An ambulance had to come take me to the hospital as I couldn't get up from the floor, and we weren't certain where all the injuries were or how bad at that point. Needless to say, I was in horrendous pain. I got stitches, one bone put back into place, and then released to drive the 2 hour drive back to my house. Well, it has been almost a week now since my fall, and I'm doing much better -- although still confined to my bed with elevated legs & feet that are still swollen. Just wanted to touch base with you & to let you know that I'm not deserting anyone, but have no laptop to bring with me to my bedroom. And can only hobble into my study where the desktop is about once a day and only for about 5-10 minutes. Thank you to everyone for all your prayers on behalf of my new grandson, my daughter, and myself! I promise to get back online in a week or so, or as soon as they let me!
