Guest guest
Hi, I am new here and would love to have some feedback please. I went to see my doctor (about 2 yrs ago) because of some on-going pain in my back, arm and hand, these symptoms went along with low-mood (can't-be-bothered-to-do-anything mood), severe dizziness & tiredness (i had also just had a baby so tht wld have explained the tiredness). The doctor pressed the sore point in my back, said i had fibrocitis and with that almost pushed me out of the door. On asking for more info, I was told it was an inflamation of the muscles. Anyhow on searching the net, I believe that in his opinion I have fibromyalgia. I now visit a different surgery, and the doctors here have not shown much interest in me questioning FM. I have had lots of tests to rule out anything 'testable', but FM is not really talked about. Now I don't really know whether I do have FM, especially as on reading the messages on here it seems tht people must be in an awful lot more pain than I am. I am not on any medications. I have had upper back ache, where I could not lift my head up of the pillow without supporting it- basically pushing my head up with my hands. And for the last few weeks been suffering with lower back pain. Here again I noticed this weakness, where I had to move/support my legs in order to make certain movements. It's like some muscles get so weak that I cannot use them at all. I don't know if any of this makes any sense to anyone.. Then there's the dizziness which has not been too bad recently and of course the brain fog and the pains in my legs, restless leg??, hmm I don't know, it feels like I want to digg something into my leg, but I also get that same sensation in my arms, hands and feet.. but as I don't have all the symptoms all the time and I can manage without pain killers, (except the back ache)I almost feel like my symptoms are not bad enough for me to be here. But I am hoping that some of you can give me a bit of feedback please, to be able to get an idea of these illnesses.. From what I have read I have some of the symptoms of FM and CFS, but what is it really? Thank you very much in advance.
Guest guest
I have FMS and have problems with my lower back quite a bit. I don't think inflammation is a sign of FMS though. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis with my FMS and CFS. He might want to do some blood tests though to see if the inflammation is an inflammatory arthritis going on. --- msjanata wrote: > Hi, > I am new here and would love to have some feedback > please. > > I went to see my doctor (about 2 yrs ago) because of > some on-going pain > in my back, arm and hand, these symptoms went along > with low-mood > (can't-be-bothered-to-do-anything mood), severe > dizziness & tiredness > (i had also just had a baby so tht wld have > explained the tiredness). >
Guest guest
Hi and Welcome, what’s your name? Sounds like you should see a Rheumatologist and a Neurologist to me…where do you live – Britain/US/Canada? What you are experiencing could be many things and it sounds like you need a thorough workup. Meanwhile, have you tried chiropractic or acupuncture? Both may help to resolve these symptoms, depending on what is actually going on. (I don’t mean either is a cure for ME/CFS/FM). Sandrea is right, the amount of pain varies widely and our reactions to it. I mostly don’t do meds because of many drug allergies, so I suck it up, but sometimes it’s hard. I’m not in pain all the time, but I do a lot of other stuff (treatments and supplements) which help to a degree ..But there are those here on Morphine and a lot worse off than me. It’s all relative…TC and Good Luck, Aylwin
Guest guest
Hi, well as someone who has shifted from Fibro more towards RA, I would say that the pain is different…right in the joints, although for me that sets off the muscle inflammation too. Your doc is very behind the times if s/he is calling it fibrocitis. IMHO inflammation is inflammation, it just occurs in different ways & places.
