Hi KOs,

When I first joined the main WelcomeToOz list in Janurary of '96 and

started to learn about BPD, there was little else to read besides the

postt of 12 NonBPs on that first NonBP list and the posts by the BPD's

on AJ's list for borderlines. And still today, for us KOs, there's only

one book that was written specifically for us -- ie, Lawson's

Understanding The Borderline Mother which was published in the year

2000. Also, now there's the SWOEW, the workbook that was written to

accompany SWOE. To see info about SWOEW go to:

When Randi wrote SWOE, which was first published in 1998, it was written

for NonBPs in a *chosen* relationship with a high-functioning BPD

significant other. We KOs, though, we in an *unchosen* relationship with

a BPD parent. But there are chapters in SWOE that we KOs can read and

profit from, including:

Part I : Understanding BPD Behavior

ch 2 - The Inner World of the Borderline

ch 3 - Understanding BPD Behavior

ch 4 - How BPD Behavior Affects NonBPs

Part II : Taking Back Control of Your Life

(Of course we KOs never had control of our life in the first place but

we can learn lots of important stuff in these chapters anyway).

ch 5 - Making Changes Within Yourself

ch 6 - Setting Boundaries and Developing Skills

ch 7 - Asserting Your Needs with Confidence and Clarity

and then

ch 11 - Lies, Rumors, and Accusation: Distortion Campaigns

Plus there are articles in the BPD Central Library including:

How can I help the BP in my life?

Responding to snipping and sarcasm while observing your limits:

I just looked out the window. What a beautiful day it is here today in

sunny So California. I think I'll take a walk after I finish reading the

Sunday paper. The nice thing about living on the west coast is that

we're always several hours behind those who live on the east coast. I'll

be back later...
