Guest guest Posted December 16, 2003 Report Share Posted December 16, 2003 About a year ago, Edith, I believe, posted a very short list, a summary of the character traits of the borderline mother. There were about 8 of them, as I recall. Some that I remember are: *** Demeans or ignores accomplishments *** Punishes independence etc etc. I carried that list with me on a vacation to Virginia when I really needed to get away from the craziness and backlash of some boundary setting with my PD family of origin. It really helped, and when I found myself blaming and chastising myself and filled with guilt and self-doubt about taking care of myself, I would take out the list and I would get back into Kansas.
