Has anyone seen poor eating and more potty accidents during the

period of upping the dosage of ssri's? My son was fully potty

trained (day and night) before starting zoloft and then he started

having *a lot* of accidents after starting it. I've noticed that his

appetite decreases after upping the dosage and accidents are more

frequent. He now has to wear a pull up at night. About a week

before upping his dosage again, he was getting a lot better with the

accidents and eating. His appetite came back strong after about 3

weeks of the last increase. So that gave me about a week of great

appetite and few accidents. We just upped his dose again and I see

him completely slipping back down the accidents slope and his eating

is tapering off again. I'm hoping it will come back in a few weeks

after he adjusts to the increase and I'll find out that it was just

an adjustment period but I just *know* we'll be upping the dosage at

least one more time! : / I don't know for certain that this is what

is causing it - it's just my gut feeling. It would help to know if

anyone has gone through something similar.

Cheryl,

Definitely a correlation at our house with the potty accidents and

increasing SSRIs.... no daytime accidents this past year EXCEPT within a

couple of days of increasing the SSRI... big accidents. It happened over a

month ago when we increased it, and we just increased it a couple of days

ago and ouila...another big accident. The problem was short lived last

time, so I hope it will be gone in a day or two this time again.

  • 4 months later...

We didn't for my youngest - would have liked that.

Skinny little thing.

Are you wanting weight gain for yours, or looking to

avoid?
