They listen not only to themselves But to the voices of their world. The breadth of their own individual Experiences if infinitely multiplied Through a sensitive empathy with others. They suffer with the suffering, Rejoice with the joyful. They are born again every springtime, Feel the impact of the great mysteries Of life: birth,growth,love, suffering, And even death. Their hearts skip along with the "young" lovers, and they know Something of the exhilaration that is in Them. They also know the ghetto's Philosophy of despair, the loneliness Of suffering without relief, The bell never tolls without tolling In some strange way . . . For them. Most of us don't really give much thought to happiness. We just know whether we feel happy or not. If you're Not happy, you may go searching for it. You may think Happiness will come with material things or relationships. Often it doesn't. If you feel that people react negatively or offensively To things that you do and say it, it may be that you share Your troubles with others too often. After a while people Begin to avoid you, and that makes unhappiness worse. Lasting happiness comes from sharing your positive attitude With others. The more you share the more you will get in Return. Happiness also comes from serving others, like Finding little ways to make others happy. The best way to convince people that you will do something is to do it. Promises can be broken, but actions and results cannot be denied. The best way to sell yourself is to be yourself, without pretense, with sincerity and enthusiasm. Your actions are more powerful and more genuinely compelling than any words or mere appearances could be. The best way to make a good impression is to accomplish something truly impressive. Focus on creating real value and you won't have to be concerned with what others think. It's great when you do what you say you're going to do. It's even better when you don't need to say what you're going to do because it has already been done. You don't need permission or approval to move forward on your own initiative. See a need and fill it, or find a problem and solve it. Success is more than being able to wish, plan, talk, convince, promise and persuade. Success belongs to those who take action.
