I'm going through the list and thinking about each statement.

Here's #27:

27. You can change your emotion immediately by thinking of something joyful, or

singing

a song, or remembering a happy experience.

I see this several times a day with my 6 month old dd. She'll start crying and

fussing for no

reason. I'll get down on her level (or pick her up) and start singing or making

funny

sounds. I make sure I over exaggerate my smile. Instantly, she stops crying and

starts

laughing and giggling. Sometimes she'll start laughing before she stops crying.

When my super negative MIL starts to get to me, I start being silly with dd,

even if she's

being happy and content. Soon MIL's negativity rolls off of me and dd is just

tickled pink

she got extra fun time. It's my hope that my extra attention to dd, protects her

from MIL

negative energy. I trust MIL not to do anything to physically harm my dd, but

her words

are ruthless and cruel.

It's taken an external focus (my dd) to get more of these positive affirmation

concepts

through my head.
