Subject: Headaches

Hello everyone,

I was wondering what everyone does for they're

headaches.

Hi Penny,

I've been a life long headache sufferer and mine are actually less severe now! I know my doctors were okay with me taking Immitrex but that quit working for me and now I take a pain reliever prescibed by the dr. because my plateletes run too low to take any of the usual Tylenol, Aleve or Motrin.

It sounds like he needs to bug the dr because it's something new for him. I'm sure there are many things in AIH that can cause headaches including extreme fatigue. The best way I've found in dealing with dr. on headaches, is to not let it go - especially migraine type, keep after them. But check first to make sure nothing else is causing them!

Good luck!

Well, I'll be signing off of this group very soon. I had a miraculous

healing of my rheumatoid arthritis in Canada 3 weeks ago. Since then, I

haven't even taken an aspirin. I'm totally and completely healed.

My RA started in 1998 and I've had my share of pain. I let everyone know

that a protein diet helped a lot...and that's what I did until 3 weeks ago.

Now, I'm going wild eating all the things that I couldn't eat for

years...especially the first 2 or 3 days. The 2nd day after my healing, I

was eating ice cream, pizza, tomatoes, mashed potatoes...making up for all

those times I couldn't eat those things. My husband and daughter knew that

I was indeed healed when I was eating all that stuff. Of course, they could

really tell by looking at my eyes.

I've been on this list for a long time...haven't really posted for a long

time.

I'm not going into specifics on my healing here...but if anyone wants to

e-mail me privately or call me in Key West at 305-745-9894, I'll give the

details. By the way, we didn't evacuate for Hurricane Ivan..waited to see

what would happen and now it's not going to hit here..just a lot of rain.

(This was a miraculous healing that took place over 3 days with a healer in

Canada....for years, I always thought that if I could find someone that did

that kind of healing, I would be healed. My husband was also healed from a

short term memory loss problem that he has had since a car wreck 18 years

ago. He says that he feels like his mind is finally clear as it has been

foggy for a long time.

She seems legit so far but I think that she's euphoric over what to me

appears to be an enbrel induced remission. I read that some people have

periods of complete remission after being on enbrel so maybe this is the

real answer?

She has earlier posts on the board that indicate that she has been on

enbrel. If it is an enbrel induced remission I wouldn't want to be present

when her symptoms come back like a tidal wave. I haven't read where anyone

has complete remission from enbrel that lasts, most of the stuff that I have

read indicate that when the remission is over the symptoms are usually worse

and that enbrel doesn't work or works less in the next round.

We'll see.... maybe. I hope that she does remain in remission for her sake.

I have been on and off of Enbrel for over four years

after the AP totally failed for me. I was in

remission for a year and a half. Recently, I had to

start Enbrel again because of a flare. I started

again at half the dose (one injection per week) four

months ago. I will stop Enbrel soon because it seems

to have totally arrested the disease. There are many

cases of Enbrel induced remission especially in PA

cases. I will try to post this message to the board

but they usually censor any positive information about

Enbrel.

That's what happened to me... I had a 2.5 yr Enbrel induced remission, then

I had a couple unrelated surgeries, and my body blasted back with a nasty

flare. Right now I'm still on the Enbrel (it keeps my psoriasis in check),

and am trying the Minocin for my arthritis. My dr. says the combo is

bizarre, but if it ends up working, neither of us care how weird it is!

I don't know what happened there but it would appear that my previous

message didn't post to the board. Could it be censorship or a mess up?

Hmmm... I hope that enbrel works for you. I personally will wait to see what

the long term effects are from it's use, so far I can afford to do so.

At this point I'm still on 10 mg of pred a day and 100 bid mino MWF, I know

what the risks are from using that combo and so far I seem to be getting

better albeit in leaps and stumbles. Most days I have very little in the way

of pain and ever since the first time that I used the Flagyl all of my

swollen parts have returned to normal.

So, as long as nothing falls off a cliff I'll be staying the course. I'll be

watching the biologics very closely and if necessary I'll go that route but

it'll be only on a last resort basis until they are proven safer over a

longer period.

I wish you luck, I read your story and I understand.

You need to be very aware that unless you specifically readdress a post to

the group, the group will not receive it: it will instead go to the original

poster. I am intentionally sending this both to the group and to you, to

remind you how it works.

It appears to me much of what you have included to the group just now was

intended as a private offlist exchange.

Be careful about that, folks don't necessarily want their offlist exchanges

broadcast to the group.

Ron, there are many, many other places on the net where you can discuss

Enbrel - a toxic drug designed to deal with symptoms. This list isn't one

of them. This list is strictly for information and support to people

interested in the much safer antibiotic protocol as stated on

www.rheumatic.org that deals with cause and not symptoms. Dr. Brown found

no need to put people on toxic drugs like Enbrel. Dr. Mercola is now

putting these diseases in remission with alternative means - diet, detoxing,

etc.

You state the antibiotic protocol has failed you so what is your purpose in

trying to stay on this list? You weren't on the antibiotic protocol long

enough to say it failed you. I've known of people on the AP up to 5 years

before they even turned the corner - let alone reach remission. Then too, I

wonder just how much effort you put into getting well.

Your posts were moderated for a long time, and when you continually refused

to adhere to the rules governing this list, you were removed from the list.

Now you have subscribed at under " defective " to get past the

moderators rather than using your own name.

You've made your choice of therapy and you need to join a list that supports

that choice.

Hi Pam,

In response to your inquiry regarding funnel chests, one of my older sons,

Steve, age 19, has this condition. (This is a bio son, my PID kiddo is adopted,

so it's not related to PID.) I think that there are varying degrees of

severity. The doctor told him that his lung capacity would be diminished

slightly. (In fact when he played around with 's peak flow meter

recently, his lung capacity was significantly lower than his older brothers.) He

has functioned fine with it however. He is now 6'6 " tall. He played

competitive soccer for 8 years, also won state swimming awards. It has not held

him back. He was slightly self conscious of it but seems to deal with it fine.

I asked him about the surgery several years ago. Our doctor said that, at the

time, they would only consider surgery for extreme cases because it is so

invasive and painful. Steve said no way! For him it would be a cosmetic thing

only. I'm sure that your doctor can advise you if there are any new ways to

deal with it, but in our case, it hasn't been that big of a deal. Good luck

with your kiddos!

, I totally agree with the yeast issue and Nizoral. When my daughter

is on it, she is 90% recovered. When she has to switch off she regresses. She

knows it and tells me to call Dr. Goldberg to tell him her medicine stopped

working. PMS is worse when she is off it. It is just so obvious now what meds

she

needs. When you have the " bright and focused " child Dr. G talks about, you

finally know what he means by that statement!

Hi Olushola:

I have been taking ALA for many years, but was not aware of the "R"

version.  I assume that this stands for the right-hand molecule.  That

would make it unusual, since most bioavailable versions for humans are

"L".

Hi

Absolutes are seldom true, especially when we talk about how the body

responds to what we put in it. If I'm correct, the out of control immune

response typically occurs during a pandemic. Maybe some one can chime

in on this.

While we are on the subject of anti-oxidants, a very good one is R-Alpha

Lipoic Acid. Diabetics shouldn't go without it.

From what I have Read, R-ALA is a Natural Version and is Twice as

Effective as Synthetic Lipoic Acid(ALA). The article on Physicians

Formula Site states that 25mg of R-ALA a few time a week is all that is

Necessary. Too much is not good. I'd like to see some studies on this.

When Time allows I will see if I can find some.

Doesn't that mean it is the right spinning molecule and therefore the body mirrors it as opposed to not splitting ALA? Chirally correct? In skin care, which is my field, it is quickly becoming important in ingredients and effectiveness of action. In medicine chirally correct ingredients is imperative.
