Guest guest
The sad part about the cytokines ache is, that part of out immune systems are over loading our bodies( making us feel like crap) but our natural killer cells are there but are not healthy. I have my own theory on this illness. I have been sick for 27 years, I kept telling people in progressive, it has changed since first getting sick but of course no one has touched on " ME " and aging. I have learned somewhat to cope with my brain or what is left of it. Oops kinda got off my train of thought. I have read and have many documents concerning Bio warfare , I have been researching it for about ten years and any skeptic that our own government made us sick just has to look at our history and our government. Just look at the CDCs handling of this disease and you know something is wrong. The over whelming need to list this as psychological . When this epidemic was first reported from Lake Tahoe they went there and did nothing but catch in some skiing and have been nothing but a big headache since.. Klimas was a strong advocate with lot of research completed years ago, Cytokines for one and in not mistaken a retro-virus. She has since jumped ship, I think it was Dr. that got shut down. It goes on and on. Our history is long and questionable. If you do research in bio warfare you will find our country wanted to weapons one to kill and one to disable. The thinking on the disabling one was, it would not only take out the sick one but his or her caretakers. I have talked about this before and most think I am nuts or don't want to believe our own government is responsible. I suggest the skeptic just Google " US government and Bio & chemical warfare " and learn for themselves. Have no idea why I went off on this tangent you poor thing. I know most out here don't like me because I am so angry, 27 years is a long time to be sick and watch our government do the things they have done to us and I am getting old to boot. I have a dream, to see this illness legitimized before I die. The CDC is getting kudos for their work in CFS but all they really have done was muddy the waters. People need to wake up to what is going on and start fighting back , writing the reps.. If they got a million letters I think they may pay attention in stead we sit back and complain and wait for others to do it. I am sorry to unload on you, pent up frustration but we have to wake up. Guest guest
Hi ShyCat, well I am not usually a conspiracy theorist type, but you really have to wonder about all this, and what happened behind the scenes that we don't know about. The deliberate disinformation scam of the '80's was very spooky.when I got Dx'ed it was fist with chronic EBV (popular theory of the time) and then with ME, which was a clear thing.then I saw that awful Newsweek article about " Yuppie Flu " and " CFS " and it's been downhill ever since. But I too have been ill for a long time, and while I try not to dwell on it, I too am very, very angry. Aylwin xox

Guest guest
In the 80's it was very popular to lie about illnesses. The worst example was the disinformation campaign about AIDS. No one wanted to bother with it because it was killing gay men. Many shameful examples have happened throughout history. Take care of you. Guest guest
Angry Cat, I don't blame you for being angry. We share the same sentiments. When it comes to the Govn., they have an agenda. I don't believe for one min that those of us sick can make a difference against that agenda. (we are the crazy ones, remember?) I've always been a fighter when it's clear what I am fighting and that's at my BEST. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired and my fight is my own. I have been active in writing anyone that would listen to just be told that there is spending in research...blah blah blah. It is cruel to expect the sick to fight a battle when we can't think straight through a day. (you know what that's like) This issue and alot of issues are about MONEY. I know there are researchers working very hard to find out what this is and how to treat and for that I am thankful. Oh and BTW, you are welcome here anytime...You have as much right if not more to speak your mind as we are in responding. I wish you well Dear, > > > > The sad part about the cytokines ache is, that part of out immune systems > are over loading our bodies( making us feel like crap) but our natural killer > cells are there but are not healthy. > I have my own theory on this illness. Guest guest
Hi Di, well that is my point…originally they tried to pass AIDS off as " psychological " (like MS and Polio, historically) - BUT - Gay men were not going to stand for it - plus they were dying, and we do not, usually, quickly…anyway. I think the CDC could not handle 2 epidemics at once. And as we were not dropping like flies, they just decided not to deal with us. Sadly, 20+ years down the line, AIDS has become a manageable, if serious, disease (with all kinds of research funding, medical and social support), and the confusion over ME has reigned supreme ever since <SIGH>. I know a number of PWA's here and guess what - they have LIVES, and when they do get really ill they get the very best of medical care. Nothing against PWA's, who deserve the care…but SO DO WE!!!!!
