You sound like me, but at least they have you on armour. I can't get a doctor to recognize a problem because my results are "normal". Never mind the low iron, high cholestorol, extremely high antibodies and tons of symptoms an enlarged thyroid and history in my family. Then you need to seek out one of the few docs who are willing to look beyond normal numbers. Email me privately, and I will tell you who they are. already.

> Platelets (130-400) 62 111

--- Whoa! Mine have been in the 400s for years. You are improving at

least, but I'd think this must be contributing greatly to your

fatigue.

> CMP Glucose (65-100) 106

--- Getting rid of carbs will help a lot. Both DH and I have been in

the 90s, so he has quit carbs and I am doing experiment and not

eating my oatmeal or beans any more. Was worried about cholesterol

and constipation, but I'll see how it goes.

beef?

Important key to your feeling better.

--- The ratio of FT3 to total Ts has gone from 23% to 26% which is

what the doc says he likes to see. (25-30% range) And you have more

of both which is good. On my last test, my FT4 dropped and my FT3

went up, but my % got to 30%. The last few weeks I've been able to

work in more Armour, which I couldn't do last September. And I'm

draggin' so I hope it continues to go in easily.

20mg of DHEA per day. I know it's helped everything to start

improving.

Foltx for now. Metanx made me too sedated.

--- I felt a good boost from my iron supp's right away. Then when I

went from 1.50gr to 2.00gr Armour I really felt a difference.

Did you have any sex hormones issues and are you on any meds? I was

really low, and getting those up helped.

Looks like you are tracking right along. I predict good improvement

in the next 6 months, building on the stronger foundation you've

laid. **All Signs Point to Yes**

Do you go back in 6 mos.?

Hope you find a great Doc. What part of Texas are you in?

Sara,

I was real happy with the improvements, and surprised by the stuff that went the wrong way.

> > ---Lipid panel looked good. You must have been eating fairly well > already.

I have made some improvements in diet since my first appointment, 6/1/06. More eggs, tuna, salmon...and I mean a lot more. > > > Platelets (130-400) 62 111> --- Whoa! Mine have been in the 400s for years. You are improving at > least, but I'd think this must be contributing greatly to your > fatigue.

I'm encouraged by the progress and Doc said it's less likely I'd 'bleed out' if injured. > > > CMP Glucose (65-100) 106> --- Getting rid of carbs will help a lot. I cut down immediately, a lot for me. My appointment with The Doc was Nov. 7. I ate very 'traditionally' (means bad) at Thanksgiving. > > > Total Iron (35-145) 91 47> --- Serious drop. My diet was much better during this time between June and October. This is very puzzling. Doc wants me to take a poop test. > > > % Sat. I was happy, pretty dramatic increase. > > > TSH (0.3-5.1) 7.1 <0.1> --- Seems like a dramatic change in short time. What did the doc say?

Don't recall any specific comment. We were pretty excited to see improvements in the thyroid related stuff. > > > FT4 (0.73-1.95) 0.97 1.09> --- At least it's going in the right direction. What would make T4 drop? Yeaa...more Armour! > > > Anti TPO Ab (<35) 721 642> --- Good deal!

Better, but I just want them to go away. > > > Tot. Testosterone (0.14-0.76) 0.29 0.65> --- That should help.> > > DHEA (2,000-3,000) 930 1920> --- Excellent! I finally got up to 1750 after nearly two years and > 20mg of DHEA per day. I know it's helped everything to start > improving.

Very happy to see it going up on 5mg twice a day. > > > Cortisol AM (7-25) 8 15 Doc said these don't compare > directly. > --- I think since it drops during the day, you might have been higher > that the 15. This has to be helping you feel better.

I thought this was a pretty dramatic improvement. Yes, he did say it was probably higher at 8:00AM. I wasn't feeling good when I went to the lab, no caffeine, driving myself, Houston traffic...had to wait till after rush hours. > > > Homocysteine (5.0-12.0) 10.2 7.0> --- Lower = better.

Way excited...7.0 is much better than 10.2.> > > Second results are after 3 months on 1 1/2 gr. I'm 5'1"...I bet you're taller. Only problem with Metanx is I have to take it with food, made me very queasy all day. > > > Doc said take iron, 50mg a day for 3 months, cut carbs. Haven't felt a boost yet after five weeks from anything. When I first started on Armour I felt almost perky at about the same point, about five weeks. Was really hoping for it. > > Did you have any sex hormones issues and are you on any meds? I was > really low, and getting those up helped.

Haven't had the other hormones tested yet. I just really felt overwhelmed with what I was already dealing with. > > Looks like you are tracking right along. Yes, back in six months! Wow! I thought I'd be on three months for a long time. > > Sara

I was really hoping to be feeling a lot better by now. I'm having trouble sleeping at the right time of day and I feel a lot better in the evening than the morning or during the day. Very weak and tired and brain foggy.

I did tell The Doc I'm remembering dreams again, hadn't for so long I can't remember when. He said that means I'm getting deeper sleep, which is good.

I'm thinking I have to skip Christmas with the family in OKC this year. I really wanted to go see my Mom, she's in long term care, and the whole family meets up there at Christmas. I was going to try to go just for a couple of days and keep it low key, but the trip to Lubbock wiped me out, I was in bed pretty much for three days. The Holidays and 20 plus family members and all the festivities...even fun things are stressful. I think I'll wait and go see my Mom when I feel better, but I feel sad not to go.

Thanks, Sara, your support, and the whole group has really meant a lot to me this year.

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

Carol
