Family going to Dr R.

I am grateful that my hubby is willing to

go to see Dr R.  His mother is diabetic, has cholesterol and blood pressure

issues that are extremely poorly managed.  I am hoping that if he goes now at

age 47 that he can be better medically managed rather then letting things get

out of control.

I am sending my 16 year old with him too.

I think she is up to 120 mg of Armour now.  But she is still not well.  I don’t

want her to have to wait until April if she does not have to.  She is most

definitely improved.  She was gone an entire week from home and did not get

sick until she got home!  This is a huge improvement!!!  But she is still

REALLY dragging.  I told her to go to sleep earlier but her response was “What’s

the point?  It does not matter what time I go to bed.  I never feel rested in

the morning!”.  I’m sure part of it is being 16 but I still think

it warrants having Dr R. recheck her.  She showed the least improvement on her

labs last time we were in.  That was July.

Now my 18 year old is just plain old

noncompliant.  I don’t think I have had to call in one refill since the

last time we were in.  She is the one with the upcoming surgery in January.  I’m

not sure what I’m going to do with her.  We do pretty good at eating

dinner together.  Maybe I’ll have her put her Armour on the dinner table

so I can remind her to take it.

needing a little encouragement

I just wish I could get my DH

to go to see Dr.R. He is on four blood pressure medications, a statin, and a

blood thinner. He is cold all the time and in constant pain. He says it is

because he is 72 years old. He cannot take testosterone because he had prostate

cancer.

Thanks for

that update. Yes, I am sure my adrenals are done and finished with

production after years of not being abused from the thyroid not being

treated. So I’ll definitely put that option out of my mind.

My husband

has a new patient appt on 1/10. I am almost certain he is

hypothyroid. He is having problems with his cholesterol and liver

function tests. I don’t want him to go on the cholesterol lowering

drugs when it could be thyroid related especially with the abnormal LFTs.

I am just not confident in my local GP. I really only trust him for

antibiotics, etc. I know Dr R will get to the bottom of things. So

that makes all 4 in my family patients.

If he goes in

January, then we can coordinate the girls and my follow-up appointment in April

with his three month follow-up appointment.

We certainly

don’t need more medical bills but our health is priceless!
