The Queen is right, of course. Not only do we hold tight to our

troubles by recounting them, but every time we retell the story of

some wrong we've been done, or replay an argument in our minds, or

give that tiny spark of hate the air it needs to grow, we miss the

opportunity for the adversity to segue into good. It's as if we're

so bedazzled by the wrapping paper we've opted to toss the gift

away.
