Guest guest
5 yo the seizures started for my son. Subject: When did your pmg child start having seizures?? To: polymicrogyria Date: Friday, August 13, 2010, 8:59 AM  Just wanting to see if its normal that she hasn't yet at 16 months. This being behind in her skills like crawling and walking just drives me nuts as she was so tiny when born that she would also be behind in all of these things due to being a preemie.. So its kinda like how do you know whats from the pmg and whats from the prematurity?? They say when she is 2 years she should be caught up,, so then maybe anything after that it will be the pmg keeping her behind??

Guest guest
Leah was 10 weeks old when she had her 1st seizure. She actually went into Status Epilepticus for about 40 - 50 mins. I was so afraid I was going to lose my baby. She was taken by ambulance to the ER, I met them there, and when I saw her actively seizing like that it was the worst feeling of helplessness I have ever felt. Nurses, techs, hovering over her trying to get an IV started, after IV started, she was given 1 mg IV Ativan followed by another 1 mg Ativan before finally seizure stopped. They did CT scan which revealed a cyst vs tumor in the left frontal temple lobe. She was transferred to Riverside County Regional Medical Center Pediatric ICU. Her first year of life was the hardest. She is 8 now with many medical conditions but I am so happy for each day I have with her. Elena >Month after her 4th birthday.
