Guest guest
I have not had good success with River Oaks. Neither of my doctors has been at all impressed with their work. I wonder if a third opinion is in order to break the tie? I hear that the imaging center at the new hospital at 59 and 99 has all new equipment and does a good job. Guest guest
Hi Lynn,I came across this article yesterday that talks about levothyroxine (brand name AND generic) not being very stable and that the FDA will tighten laws... http://thyroid.about.com/od/thyroiddrugstreatments/a/fdapotency2007.htmOn 10/5/07, Lynn <lbonacci39@... > wrote: I hae been fired! MD has fired me, since I don't have cancer. That's a good thing, except, I am confused about my U/S. Recently I had an U/S done at Riveroaks that said I have the same old nodule on right lobe measuring 1.3 cm. Went to MD for a second opinion, and they said I DON'T have a nodule. Riveroks CT Scan said I had a nodule, MD still said I DON'T. Who do I believe? Also I was told by the " mid-level provider " that Armour is not stable. That it can change for no reason, and that they will NOT prescribe it to me. Lynn

You already know this one, right?

Guest guest
I read that, but no mention of Armour, I think mainly because it’s been around for so long, and didn’t need The new FDA approval like the “new” drugs. Guest guest
I used Diagnositic Radiology of Houston on Gessner. My chiro used them for my neck and low back. They are very thourogh. If you've ever read the book "Second Opinions" or "How Doctors Think" by Dr. Jerome Groopman, http://www.jeromegroopman.com/ he talks about how when radiologists read diagnostic x-rays and MRIs, things can be misunderstood or missed. His books are easy to read, and I highly recommend them. I wish more doctors were like him. -RuthK Re: last visit to MD /nodule question I have not had good success with River Oaks. Guest guest
If you want a third opinion, I go to Memorial Herman. I used there new facility at US 59 and 99 in April. As for the instability issue. Ask were they got that info. That is a rumor. It is set to USP standards and hasn't had the number of recalls that T4 meds have had. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. Yeah, on the stability thing. I knew there was no way to reason with her, she had her mind made up.
