Hi Lee! *waves* Was wondering where you were at! Thanks for popping

in. Stick with those workouts, buddy. Betcha miss your DP software

when you are away from home, huh? Glad I have mine loaded into my

laptop - now if I go anywhere, DP goes with me. :)

What state do you live in?

It sounds as if you have accessed many social services already. The Social

Security Administration does reconsider applicants in a quicker manner if

there is extreme financial hardship. That would be like homelessness or an

eviction notice. You can try the financial hardship tact. Do you have a

lawyer?

Basically, as I am sure that you know, it is a soulless, faceless

bureaucracy.

I would be glad to help in anyway that I can. I have many years experience

in health care and social services but it is limited to Ohio and I haven't

worked in three years.

Sorry, what is your name? And where do you live? If you are here in

the US you can apply for food stamps and heating assistance, electric

assistance type stuff. Let us know where you are and maybe we'll have

some ideas for you.

Hi Anne,

I was also banded at North Shore. You are doing great and should be

really pleased with yourself. I have problems with iron as well - have

you tried Iron Melts - I find that they don't have the same side

effects as other iron tablets and they taste good too. You can either

just let them melt in your mouth or chew them. Might be worth giving

them a go.

Hi Everyone,

I am getting banded on 17th September 2009 - very nervous and scared but excited too.

I'd love to have some 'face to face' contact with other successful 'banders'.

I really hope I can come to the next social outing - have so much to still learn about my future life - even though I've been researching this now for 3 years!!!

Hiya Huggie

It a great step you have taken! Good for you... dont be too nervous -

plenty of people have done this and I for one would never be without my

band. I love it (mostly curse the buggar but I love it all the same)

and have lost over 50kg with my band. It took me about 2.5 years to do

it, but it has been great and my life has changed so much, I hardly

recognise the person that I am these days.

You might go along to the band seminar - see post #38706 as that is the closest 'event' coming up where there will be some of us there. Otherwise like Mel said, post your questions to us... there is always someone hanging around :)

Thanks ,

I am very nervous but I know that deep down it is the right decision.

You have lost over 50kg in the last 2.5 years????? What a legend you are!

I feel like I can only dream of that kind of success!

It's nice to come off the Yahoo boards - there is some crazy stuff that goes on there from time to time - gave me the willie's!!!

I'll check that post out right now about the band seminar!

Thanks again for the welcome - do you have your story somewhere that I can read? i.e. who banded you, your experiences so far, etc, etc?

I'd love to read it,

xxHuggie

You have a wonderful maybe frustrating at times journey ahead of you

I think we are all nervous while we wait for the day to arrive

I look forward to hearing of all your successes and the occasional frustration too cause we all have them

You will achieve your dreams just be patient and know the first few weeks can be a trial but eventually

You will get to the place your happy and excited about

This is a lovely group with lots of support

Hi Gabs

Welcome to our band of bandits!!

Be brave. Sometimes when you read about something it seems like such hard work but then when you actually experience it yourself, you think it's not so bad.

The worst part about the procedure is learning to love yourself and come to terms with the new skinnier you!

Where in Sydney do you live? Maybe we could organise a coffee sometime before your op.
