Yeah, it saves a ton of money and time over snail mail.I don't see it as related to HIPAA at all.There is a statement about communicating electronically on the registration form I have patients sign.Patients have the opportunity to have encrypted messages sent to them by email which require a password of their choosing to open, but very, very few have requested that (about 1%).Basically, the patients seem to like the convenience of the email messaging.
