Guest guest
DJ, I am 4 years out but I can remember a few things that worked well for me. Delano is hot. I wore " wife beater " sleeveless tee shirts and an extra washcloth or diaper over the incision and under the elastic wrap around binder. You will have drains that can be safety pinned to the tee shirt and excess guck all over the place. I hated the smells and needed to keep clean. It was better to keep the binder clean and wash the tee shirts and wash cloths. I also ended up cutting about 1 1/2 inches off of the " width " of the binder so it wouldn't ride under my breasts. I remember taking a nice fragrant soap to use in the hospital (Carmen gives the best showers) and to use in the hotel. A nice smelly lotion is nice too. I used a snap down the front light " house coat " (Kmart, Target or Mervyns) over the tee shirts to lounge in and walk the halls at the Best Western. I then started walking around the building in this house coat as it cover everything loosely. I wore flip flops and that was the attire for my duration in Delano. There is a Rite Aid and K Mart right there. Your support person can run and get your scripts and needs very quickly. I brought water and jello and disposable spoons and paper towel. You can easily get whatever you need. You just don't know what you will want until the time comes! Do not worry. You are in the BEST OF HANDS with Dr. K and the staff in Delano.
