Guest guest
Hi My Dear Sandrea, it is really too bad that you can't get to an NAET person, who could check out every one of those meds and all the chemical sensitivities simply and accurately, and treat you to reduce them naturally. My chemmie and scent sensitivities are WAY down since treating them. We also check and treat possible meds for allergy and side effects, to reduce their impact. It's so effective and I'm not trying to be a one note wonder or frustrate you, but this is just the kind of stuff it is for. I went to allergists and a university expert and got no help at all, before. If you have any $$$to get to someone it might be worth a try. Docs are just not good at those allergies! Good Luck, and I will try to shut up about it now. Take Care, Aylwin xox
Guest guest
Hi Sandrea, Sorry you didn't get more definitive results from your doctor!! Allergies are really hard to test for, so he's probably correct that the only thing to do is avoid things that make you have a reaction. For me, this means dust, most cleaning products, and a lot of body care items, evne though I only test as allergic to trees. I believe Advair is an inhaled steroid--you might want to look into the side effects. I was put on Advair when I had a chest infection, but told to stop using it as soon as the infection went away. I also take a lot of allergy pills, as well as Nasonex, which I like a lot. Make sure with the Naxonex that you blow your nose first, and drink some water about 10 mins after taking it--you can get a thrush infection if the liquid travels down your throat. Since I have such a horrible time with products, here's what I use: cleaning: seventh generation, citrasolv body: nature's gate unscented, kiss my face unscented. the downside to these is that they can run more expensive than ones with higher chemical levels. there are a lot of things you can just clean with vinegar and water--I'm sure there's a good list online. Otherwise, I say, the stuff that comees closest to my skin gets precedence for being low-chem/organic--so I use regular wood floor soap but organic kitchen cleaner and detergent. Hope that helps!! Guest guest
I called the NAET practitioner here and asked what type of certification they had and the receptionist said I was the first one in four years to ask that question. She said she'd get back to me and never did. I don't know, maybe I should call again but it seems not very good customer service to me. I can't recall what the cost was but quite steep and not something I can really afford at the moment. I see my naturopath Monday and he knows about NAET so I am going to ask him what he thinks and if he could check this practitioner out for me. Guest guest
Thanks . I didn't know Advair was a steroid or about drinking water after the Nasonex. Thanks for letting me know. Sandrea
Guest guest
If you go to this website http://www.naet.com/subscribers/drnamerica.html and locate your practiotioner, it will tell you what certifications they have and when they did them. There were 3 practitioners in my immediate area and I used that as a tool to pick one. The guy I'm using is really reasonable- the first visit is $80, the second visit is free, and treatments are $39 each. My first visit is at the end of the month, with my husband going on tour after being unemployed for almost a year, I will finally be able to afford it. Guest guest
Very best of luck with your practitioner. He is way cheaper than the folks here. There are only 2-3 folks that do it here in ME. According to my psych I should not see one of them as her office set-up is not a good one in that people can not be seen as frequently as she suggests due to scheduling issues. So, the others are a husband and wife team and according to the website they only have level one certification. They have two offices and on one office website it says the husband has level one and no training since 1999. On the other website it says he had training in 2005 but no mention of level of certification. So I called the office and was told by the receptionist that no one had asked her that question in four years of working there and that she'd have to get back to me. She never did. I'm not sure what the wife does/does not have or if she does the NAET stuff or not. Sandrea
