I live in Ontario, Canada, in the city of Hamilton (actually Stoney Creek) I have an uncle living in Winnipeg, Manitoba who also has LBD. His story is like a replay. Near Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks and not too far from Dover. LO--Father Colin Clive Cashmore, diagnosed ?LBD August 2001. Died October 21st 2002 at age 67 yrs. - brain autopsy confirmed Diffuse LBD. My LO is my 87-year-old mother, Virginia Barden, who lives on a special care dementia unit of a nursing home within 10 minutes of me here in Bloomington, so I get to visit her daily. My 4 siblings and I moved her here from her assisted living apartment where she lived with our dad in North East, PA, until his death in June 2002. Her memories are of NY State, though - Ripley, in Chautauqua County where she and Dad raised all of us and Gansevoort, NY, where she was born and raised and where her sister and my oldest brother live. Her mind takes her to all of these places during the day so I have to figure out where she' " been " so I can respond appropriately. I'm sure I exasperate her at times for not " keeping up " ! My Dad, Jim White, was originally dx w/Alzheimer's a few years ago then more accurately dx w/LBD last August and has progressed extremely rapidly through all the stages since. He turns 73 in April. Guest guest Posted March 5, 2004 Report Share Posted March 5, 2004 I am still in MI and my WI lawyer that I found will do the work for me as soon as I can stop copying. And I have 4 YEARS of taxes to do before Tax day. I now have a book of stuff copied and it will be fed=exed tomorrow.. Then I have to go to WI and try and sort out some of the stuff that is Mom's and some that is theirs. I am hoping to only make one 12 hour up and one 12 hour back trip. My lawyer will try and get them to agree to some stuff before I have to be there. It is very complex and I will for sure talk about it when I get back. This is a legal issue that everyone should be warned about, especially with step problems. I could write a book. And may do just that. Thanks for asking.
