Guest guest
Hi All - I am due to banded on Oct 20th, and am looking forward to it. Won't bore you with my Optifast delusions (this is week 2 and I swear I nearly licked a loaf of bread yesterday in the bakery when picking up bread rolls for my partner). At my heaviest I was 110kg and at my lightest through diet and exercise 80. However at 159cm, and my weight at 94kg my BMI is up around 36-37 mark - I have decided to move forward with the band. My godmother doesn't understand why I am going ahead with the op as (in her words) - You aren't super fat any more just do some more diet and exercise. Bless and my partner thinks I should just exercise more. I already do 8 hours per week - so really with work, kids etc when else am I going to? For me the band is about getting return on my investment of exercise and helping to control the portion sizes and my food intake. As a general rule i am pretty good about what I eat, only this year there has been additional stress (cancer, selling family home relocating parents into nursing home etc) and i was devasted to see my weight march back on 9kgs in 6 months - despite exercise. I have had one or two negative questions/postings regarding being a lower weight bander, but for me I feel its the best thing and I am looking forward to life post band. Thank you for your support.
