Your Free T3 is not too high. But your Free T4 is too low. Dr. R only rarely prescribes a combination of natural plus synthetic meds, and then only as a last resort. But I think you may be in a position where you may need those "last resorts." If this is what you want to try, say that you would like to try the combination "as an experiment" just to see if it will help. Don't try to do this with a phone call. if you can send a fax, that is best. If you don't have access to a fax machine, then send a letter by snail mail. stitnjaca1 wrote: I nee to ask you guys this because I am so confused. How

important is FT4 compare to FT3? Is it important that both hormones are close in the range? I am taking Armour, compounded from W I Pharmacy. I started at 2x 1/8th grain a day. I am now at 1/4th grain in the am and 1/6th grain in the pm. With that I still have hypo symptoms.I have been trying to go up on my pm dose of Armour but it's not working. I tried taking one day 1/6th and next day 1/4th grain for months. Then When I try to take 1/4th grain every day in the pm, few days later I become very sick. I get anxiety, nausea, more fogy, weakness all over my body, numbness, heart shipping..... just more then I can handle it. I try this at least three different times and every time I have to back up to taking 1/6th grain in the pm.My doctor wants me to stick with Armour and try to increase it. On my last visit he was calculating how much available or active hormones do I have combining FT4 and FT3. He

concluded that I need more and was not concern that my FT3 is high in the range and my FT4 is very low. I regret that my husband was not with me in the office, he would understand better. I was so fogy and now, two weeks later, I have no idea what he meant. Here are my last labs, August 06TSH 6.671 range 0.490-4.670FT3 4.52 2.23-5.35 73.40% in rangeFT4 10.02 9.14-23.81 6% Is it possible that my FT3 has reached max and that when I go up on Armour I am sick because of too much T3 ? I wanted to try to add some Unithroid to my Armour but I don't think my doc likes that.I would apreciate all of you coment and sugestions like always. Thank you so much.Nevenka

Have you had your adrenals tested? It does look like you still need

an increase, but since you can't tolerate more Armour, it could be due

to an adrenal insufficiency.

Thanks for Celtic salt info.

I got better news yesterday. My B12 has gone up, and it's 549 now. WOW,

I couldnot believe it. It made my day.

My iron is now 54, up from 25 in June.

I am taking Feosol 45. It comes in 65 I know. I should try it. BUT, I

have problem with everything, not just thyroid meds. Iron and vitamins

are making me sick too. Same way like thyroid meds.

Awesome....it's working! Did they test your ferritin levels? I would

keep on taking the iron and then do you also take B12? I think your B12

should be in the 700 range. I could be wrong but I'm thinking my sister

just mentioned that to me a few months ago. I'm glad that your numbers

are going up.

Thanks Sue!

No ferritn test this time. My saturation was very low last time and

my doctor was not worried about ferritin for now. I need to bring up

my iron first and saturation will follow, then I will concentrate on

ferritin.

I am taking sublingual B12 very small amount several times a day. One

pill last for whole week. But I am so happy that I am absorbing it

and I will continue taking it.

Ferritin and B12 are both wayyyyyy tooo low! B12 needs to be over

500. Ferritin at least over 70.

I am sorry I made a mistake. My B12 in June was 290, not 190.

I got my new results on B12 from last week and it's 549. I am very

happy about that. I am still working on my iron levels.
