Guest guest Posted December 3, 2010 Report Share Posted December 3, 2010 Ram, My son, Gage age 3 1/2 years, has vision problems. His vision is what lead us to the PMG diagnosis. He wears glasses but they don't correct the fullness of his vision issues since they are also neurological. Along with impaired vision he has ocular motor apraxia. This causes problems with tracking objects. He has also had two surgeries for stabimus. If you have not been referred to a Neuro- opthomologist, I would recommend you ask for one. Guest guest Posted December 3, 2010 Report Share Posted December 3, 2010 Yes - we have vision problems, and my daughter has had nothing but short of miraculous results with vision therapy! She is also PMG with ocular motor apraxia, and has also had several strabismus surgeries. We are in our 4th of a 5 month vision rehab course, and her eyes now track together, she can read a sentence without jumping up and down several lines, she hardly ever bumps into things, and now appears (we'll know for certain at her next re-eval on Monday) that she is developing three dimensional vision (this is HUGE!!) It is very, very exciting stuff. The one thing is that it is expensive, but in the US there are medical credit cards that you can make payments without interest for up to a year (insurance only covers a small portion unfortunately.) We are in Texas. If I can be of help to you and referring you to websites, etc., or if you want info on the credit card I'm talking about, please feel free to let me know.
