Guest guest
Abby, If I were a suffering dog, nothing would comfort me more than to be in the arms of my loving owner during my last moments. Unfortunately (actually fortunately I guess) ...your cousin will feel all the pain, (heartache)... the dog wont feel anything. She will just drift off to sleep snuggled close to the person she loves most in the world. I pray for your cousin, that she will be able to summon up the strength, despite her own pain....and for her dear little friend, for I know how precious a dog is to her owner. Guest guest
Dar Abby: I did that for my beloved dog. I cannot imagine the alternative of wondering how he went. My dad was there to support me, but could not be in the same room, since he didn't have it in him to see the dog euthenased. He thought I was very brave. I was glad to be there for my baby, and at the same time a little selfish because I could not have lived with myself if I felt I abandoned him in his last moments. I guess I did it for both of us. It still feels horrible, but at least I do not feel bad about myself and he had no hope for survival, only more pain. I can't talk about it anymore, hugs, Josie
