Dear Bertha,

My wife was diagnosed. with PD in May 2000,after what seems to me now

with hindsight a very elementary and brief examination by a ''consultant

physician to the elderly''.After a year on cabergoline she was prescribed

sinemet and it has been a constant struggle ever since . Last month I took her

to the Mayo clinic in Florida where they diagnosed diffuse LBD, with severe

dementia. The decline in her condition has been rapid, I have been her sole

carergiver and at present she is in respite care which I think may have to be

long term given her condition . I have studied all one can absorb as a non

medical but professional person on PD, now studying LBD.

If I could type less laboriously I could tell much more of our experiences and

on going efforts but will do so later to both groups,when time permits, thanking

you and , ,Donna R. and others who are assisting.
