Guest guest
Hug's Jan xox NAMASTE Has this ever happened to you? The day after we moved to a small town in Colorado my wife Bev didGrocery shopping. We moved few food items with us so she filled fourGrocery carts full. She asked if she could pay with an out of stateCheck. "We just moved here," she explained, "and don't have localChecks yet." They said, "Yes, no problem." But when she began looking for herCheckbook, she discovered that she had left it at home. All of the groceries had been checked and sacked. "I'm so sorry," sheSaid, "I thought I had it with me. If I could just leave the groceriesHere for a few minutes, I'll run home and get the checkbook." "Don't worry about it," the cashier told her. "Take the groceriesHome. The next time you're in the store you can pay for them." We had just moved from a large city and she couldn't believe what sheWas hearing! This clerk had never seen her before. But she treated herAs if she were a VIP. She was somebody! Don't you love it when you are treated like you are somebody? BecauseThe truth is, we are all somebody. We are all important. And maybeMost businesses cannot (and should not) let everybody pay with credit,But even strangers can be treated with honor and respect. "Namaste" is a polite Indian gesture of greeting or farewell. FromHindi, the word literally means "bowing to you." Namaste has alsoBeen used to mean "I honor the sacred that is within you." What aRemarkable thing it would be to actually honor the sacred that isWithin each person we meet! Even strangers. Nobody would go unnoticedAnd everybody would count. Here is an exercise that may dramatically change your life: for oneMonth treat everybody you meet as if she or he is the most importantPerson in the world. The man sweeping the sidewalk, your spouse andChildren, a teenager in the neighborhood, the elderly woman seatedAcross the aisle from you -- honor that which is sacred in all ofThem. Give your undivided attention. By your words and actions, communicateTo them all how important they are to you. Show them great respect andKindness. You may be amazed at what happens to your relationships! You may not single-handedly solve the problem of world peace -- but inOne small way at least, you will make a great difference. Namaste. Steve Goodier Advice from others may share the benefit of Experience. But, not trusting your own wisdom Can hold you back. Even though the intentions of Others are good, sometimes their views and words Are negative. They may even encourage you to Believe that they know your needs better than you. When you hear advice that makes you doubt your Dreams and abilities, stop! Believe in yourself first, And see all other viewpoints from that perspective. Your situation can always change for the better and What you want, though ambitious, is possible. Wisdom offered by others may be absolutely right, But it doesn't make it right for you. You know your strengths and capabilities. You know Your ability to hold on to an idea and make it work Despite the odds. In the end believe in your own Wisdom, first, and thank others for theirs. In the next five minutes, you can be living in a brighter, more positive world. In the next five minutes, a dreary day can be transformed into a day filled with positive promise. How can this happen? It can happen because of you. It doesn't take much to brighten your world. Yet it can make a tremendous positive difference for you and for those around you. A smile is a good way to start. A kind word, a helpful act, some real patience and understanding will add to the brightness. Brighten your world just a little bit, and that brightness will be reflected more than you might imagine. Send out your own special goodness today, and it will come back in even greater measure. You don't have to be stuck with a day that's going nowhere. Take a little time, make a little effort, brighten your world and see just how quickly things improve.
