No experience with the shots, but try oral methyl B12 first, many kids absorb it

just fine. I have some concerns, psych wise, in injecting a child, if not

necessary. Lots of documentation for adequate absorption for oral methyl B12. I

would not want to take a shot if I could take a pill, imagine most people, kids

are people, might feel the same way.

MB12 Shots

We are planning on starting our son (4 yrs old, diagnosed with PDD) on

MB12 shots with a doctor in NJ. Does anyone have any experience with

this (positive or negative)? Are there any side effects?

Thanks

We have just begun the Mb12 shots. The shots take the guess work out of

the absorption issue and is immediately available to the system. The

needles are very very small so there is very little awareness of being

given a shot. An ice cube held to the area for 15 seconds is sufficient

so no stick is felt. It takes seconds to administer Just so happens my

guy is very cooperative so its easy to give. Wiggly kids would of course

be a little harder.

You can also apply Emla cream (numbing cream) to the area for about 30-40 mins

before giving the shot. The cream is by prescription-any doc. can write you

one. It is great for blood draws. Some people prefers giving the shot when the

child is asleep as well. Whatever suits your child best.

Be really careful with these shots. I know three kids who regressed terribly

with these shots. One was a child I was working with at the time. She had

made really great progress and her language had started to take off prior to

the shots. Within a few days of starting the shots, she lost her language,

became much more hyperactive again and went back to the pinching and biting we'd

eased her out of a year before. It took six months to get back to where she

was behaviorally and focus-wise prior to the shots and her language still hasn't

returned several years later. This child actually showed defficient in B12

with blood testing and responded well to the cream form but somehow couldn't

handle the high-dose injections.

some children will no doubt experience some negative side effects. that is

true with most everything. you have to be a " good " candidate for use with

mb12. not everyone will do well with it.

i believe you may find addtl info on dr neubrander's site.

Anything can have side effects-- I think most common with B12 is

increased hyperness.

We haven't seen anything either way with the shots and will probably

discontine once we run out of this batch.

Barb,

My son was a pt of Dr. Gs for almost 3 yrs, no longer. I'm quite

sure he's against them, since it is a megadose of B-12.

We decided to do the shots instead of spray since the spray is relatively

new and our Dr. hadn't heard enough feedback on it. After 2 years of doing

the horrible

IMGG shots, the B12 is a walk in the park. My son doesn't feel them at all,

even with no numbing cream or ice cube.

I've heard lots of kids have really done well on them, I even exchanged

emails with an adult Aspie who told me they were the only thing that made

her have a clear head.

I just really haven't seen anything from them, good or bad.

I even let give me one (before I tried it on him) and I didn't feel

any different, either, for what that's worth!!

Hi

I have a 6yr old boy with Autism that tends to be hyperactive for the most

part and have been wondering what to give him to calm down. I saw a doctor Dec

20th and I was interested in MB12 shots...so I started them Dec 26th. every 3

days.

I wanted to see some reaction the same day of course that didn't happen. What

did happen is since he has been back to school 20 days after starting the shots

the reports have been glowing about Arun being relaxed and focused since his

holiday. I haven't told anyone about what I was doing different. I hope it

continues the next step is to add Folinic Acid and review it in 2 weeks.

I am pleased overall I am looking forward to more improvements in the future.

Is there some kind of testing done to determine if the

shots or spray are indicated? Blood levels of B12?

not that i know of. the child is the best test. for unk reasons, some

respond better to the nasal spray. good question for the mb12 valtrex list

group.

I'm sorry to bud in, but you mention megadose of B-12? That sounds alot. Is the

B-12 methylated? What is the dosage recommended for your child?

We are currently doing 25mg/ml mB12 (methylcobaltamine). Each shot is only 0.05

ml every other day. The shot is given in the fatty area on the buttock.

Yes, we're doing the methyl B-12 also, similar dosage as yours. Dr. G would

consider it a megadose, since it is in excess of the daily RDA, was my

point.

go to drneubrander.com to find out all you need to know. he is the

pioneer of the shots and developed the protocol and exact method to

get the best results.

We have been using them for one year with him and have had phenominal
