Guest guest
Sounds like you need to talk to your doctor about the symptoms, those are all HYPO! Don't settle for in range! Guest guest
I'm sensitive to medication. The doc upped my med to 150mg of armour and it was too much for me. I might be ready now to take 150 mg of armour. I've been overmedicated before and it was horrible. I'm trying to avoid that. Hypo and hyper symptoms are so much alike. Guest guest
You really need to work on building your ferritin. My doctor likes to see over 100. Low ferritin can cause an intolerance to a good dose of Armour. Have you had your adrenals checked? Kim I'm sensitive to medication. Guest guest
Are you taking it all at once? Many people find that splitting the dose during the days helps. That's because you body would make T3 during the day as needed, not all at once. So your body is normally ready for more in the afternoon. Do you get fatigued in the afternoon? I would talk about that with your doctor. Also you might talk to your doctor about your Iron dosing as well. They might be willing to recommend a higher dose, but each person is different. Also any adrenal issues? Have you had an AM cortisol test? Kate G At 01:21 PM 12/22/2007, you wrote: >I'm sensitive to medication. The doc upped my med to 150mg of armour >and it was too much for me. Guest guest
When I read the symptoms I thought adrenals. To me the thyroid and adrenal symptoms are hard to separate as these two systems are so interdependent. Have you checked into your adrenals. Eileen > > 5a. Guest guest
An 8 AM cortisol just measures your cortisol at that particular hour. It needs to be fairly high in its range. Guest guest
Yvette, Do you have a copy of your labs? If so please post the test with the lab, the lab range and the result of your test. That will help greatly. AM Cortisol is a blood test that is drawn by 8am to test the level of cortisol in your blood. It should be at it's highest point then...lowest at midnight. Guest guest
Oh, btw..5mg is a small dose..what time do your take it? Was the doctor going to raise it over time. While everyone is different, a lot of people get worked up to between 15-20mg. I would talk to the doctor about the dose and the future. Guest guest
I take cortisol in the morning. Dr. Ellsworth tried to reduce it but I had allergies and fatigue so he went back to the orginal 5mg. I'v often wondered if I needed more. I could increase it myself because the pills I have come in 2.5mg. Yvette > > > > > > > >Hi everyone, this is my first post.
