I am very glad they found your dad. Does he have an ID bracelet. I think

they are very important if you have a LO who likes to " leave "

Whew!! What a relief. As I was reading your first message after

being away from the board all day yesterday, I was thinking in

exclamation marks. Much better now - blood is pumping at a more

relaxed rate and I'm certain my heart rate is going down.

Wow!! How frightening for you and especially for his wife. Too

scary!! It must truly " suck " for her to have to see someone she

loves not know her anymore.

I must say my dad had several really bad days following surgery but

it does get relatively better (or at least as better as an LBD " good "

period gets). In the meantime, stay strong and know that in most

cases it does pass.

Best of luck helping out with your mom. She sounds as if she needs

you and I know how frustrating it is to be pulled in so many

different directions. I think you're right though - no use picking

up and leaving because your dad may be much better by the time you

get back.

Lots and lots of cyber strength accompanies this post KD. I'm

wishing normalcy will come for you really soon.

I'm so glad things are back to 'normal' and much less stressful.

When my dad was in hospital - in a psychiatric ward - he took himself off!

Although the ward was 'locked' as in you had to buzz to get in, you could let

yourself out. the staff hadn't noticed my dad had gone until the afternoon

visiting when my sister asked where he was.

Suddenly everyone was pooping themselves!!

6 hours later the police picked him up 3 miles away. He had been knocked over by

a car - but not hurt. He had bumps and bruises and blistered feet. He took his

shaver and aftershave with him. He said he was walking to work!

It was horrendous!

After that my dad had 24/7 supervision!!

Then - just like you say - he was 'back to his old self' for a few days.

It is the worst roller coaster in the world - this is the ride from hell!!

Take care.

You are doing a great job.
