Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. It was a wonderful tribute to Canada. I

felt your pride in your community and country. I read with a smile in

wonderment that you never mentioned snow or cold. Coming from Indiana I

have ice fished. Don't know why. My father said he enjoyed it. Again I

don't know why. I froze my tushy off. He died when I was 16 so remember

nothing made much sense to someone that young.

I love Texas more than I can say I ever had feelings for Indiana. Texas has

something for everyone. Texas is a state of mind. Where I live is Fort

Worth, known as Cowtown. Cattle drovers drove the cattle here to slaughter.

That doesn't happen anymore except for special " cattle drive " performances

then the cows go home not to slaughter. In the real " Cowtown " they still

have brick streets, saloons, and great eats. Even when there are no cattle,

if you listen real close, you can here the hoofs on the brick. Dallas is

OIL. All the money is/was there. JR Ewing type. Fort Worth is more laid

back, Dallas is fast pace. I always thought that was the Yankee influence

not the Texan way of life. The Mobile Oil building in Dallas has a sign

affixed to the roof. It is a DOUBLE SIDED flying horse, the Mobil Oil

trademark. Legend has it that is so the wag tongues from Fort Worth can't

call Dallas a " One Horse Town. "

As said, Texas may become its own country. I don't know what we would

do with those " Damn Yankees " that live here. I guess we would deport them.

By the way, I don't consider myself one. I kid relatives about checking

passports at the state line. My niece came by air and when she got off the

plane she had a BIG cardboard sign that said it was a " Visitor's Pass. "

Everyone on the plane got a big kick out of it. The flight attendants made

a big thing out of it.

Spring is coming. I'm sending it North. You will know it is from me. It

will be wearing a smile.

Thank you again for sharing Canada with us.

I too am from Indiana but a want to be Texan. There are t-shirts there that

say, " not a texan but got here as fast as I could " . That will be me. Just

having to wait for some family issues (since I am the caregiver) One of my

sisters (who got to meet) and my youngest daughter (who also got

to meet) and one brother live there. So as you can see we are relocating the

family........LOL.

is a true Texan.......Kind, Happy and just down right considerate. I

loved meeting her!

Cant wait until we can do it again.

Texas is its own country. My brother in law says there is a big fence around

Texas to keep us Yanks out, But I sneak through on occasion.

I would love to go to Texas. It is on my list of places to see. And now I

have a friend to see there also.

Y'all come down now, ya hear. Plenty of room and we can drive around to see

things I never have seen. I would love that. Would welcome the visit.
