Guest guest
Hi - I am from Reno, NV. I have this sensation on both arms (thankfully not at the same time) from wrist to elbow. Predominately it happens on the left side. I always thought it was residual nerve problems from when I had a horrible outbreak of shingles three years ago, as I've heard that some individuals never rid themselves completely of the nerve pains associated with shingles. Now, with a semi-diagnosis of fibro in January (my Dr. is not 100% certain, but agrees that I have all of the markers (!) I think it may be more linkes to the FM. I have an appt in October to talk with my Dr. about the FM diagnosis - I deeply feel she does not recognize FM, so I may be on the hunt for another Dr. In any case, I hope my experience makes some sesnse in the realm of the " weird burning sensations " . All the best, R --- Sandrea wrote: > In the last week I have a number of times felt like > one particular > spot on my lower abdomen is burning. Guest guest
Thanks , I definitely do have burning with my fibro, but it is associated with the pain. In other words I always have burning and pain. This spot was not painful other than feeling like I had burned myself. Quite weird, but who knows, fibro is weird in the things that pop up, as is CFS. I have thankfully never had shingles as I do understand it is very painful. I had chicken pox when I was 25 which is rather late in the day to have it. So, I won't be surprised to get shingles one day, but so far I haven't and am hoping it stays that way. Sandrea

Guest guest
I hope you *nener* get shingles - they are miserable! I tell you with the changing of the seasons, going into fall on cooler weather, I can tell this is going to be a very painful winter. When the buring starts, if I don't try ti quiet the skin as soon as possible, it seems like it won't go away. I've been up entire nights trying to find comfort, but if I start to calm the skin at first sensation, it goes much better. I try ice packs, and something soothing like aloe vera and some baby lotion (hey what ever works, right?! lol)

Guest guest
I've no idea if this would help, but when I had chicken pox I was told to soak in a tub with an Aveeno powder poured in. Can't recall what. In any case, it did help and I have noticed now that they have all sorts of lotions out now as well. Don't know anything about them. Guest guest
Thanks for that! I have tried eveery skin-relief product available. Finally, when my grandma was passing away, I was in the hospital seeing her and her Parkinson's Dr. happened to be in there. She mentioned to him that I had shingles and was suffering. He scripted me Neurontin after examining me. It did take the edge off, but I had them so bad that I was left with residual pain. So if ever you need a medicine to deaden nerve pain - I do recommend this medicine.
